More Meatball

I hope you aren't tired of seeing me and MY Meatball yet because I have a lot of pictures I want to post Post POST!!!

D-Guy is always messing with MY Meatball.... Today, he put her into his mean Juice's pen,

I kept a close watch on them, to make sure mean Juice didn't bully MY Meatball,

Thankfully, Juice was good with Meatball, but I decided that I wanted MY Meatball OUT!!!

MY Meatball is safe now.....

I'll protect her no matter what!

When I get tired.....

We snuggle together like this,

And fall asleep together.....

I'm careful with MY Meatball, even when I'm asleep,

Sometimes, she sleeps on top of me,

MY Meatball cutie!!

Me and MY Meatball!

Meatball's First Day Home

I first met Meatball on June 13th, 2011,

D-Guy thought I was a little too excited, so he was a bit worried about putting Meatball down (even though mum told him that I, her dogter, would be good with it),

Finally, he let her down, but his hands were still in the protective position,

I told him to relax, I'm a (guinea pig) lover and not an eater!

I checked to see if she deposited treats like MY Georgie used to for me,

Then D-Guy decided that I had spent enough time with MY Meatball, so he decided to hog her...... (mum: he googled and told me that gp's like to sit on shoulders...)

I said NO WAY are you having MY Meatball all to yourself!!! SuperDALE coming thruuuuuu!

D-Guy started working like this...

With MY Meatball on his shoulder and he wouldn't let me have her!!!

Mum was a little creeped out by D-Guy's behaviour so she asked him if he's had pets growing up. He said, "Yes, a goldfish". I guess that explained his attachment to these small animals (he loves Juice too...).

Isn't MY Meatball cute?? She really loves to eat. Here she was, eating a banana.

Mum posted an ad on Craigslist saying she wanted a guinea piggie for her dogter (mum: I wrote "daughter".), and a few people responded. Mum thought Meatball was the cutest, so she paid $10 and brought her home to me - her dogter!

Anyway, D-Guy continued to work like this until Meatball peed on him LOL!

Juice met Meatball, he was actually very nice to her which was surprising!! He was quite little then, only 10 weeks old.

DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!

LOOK AT WHAT'S ON MY HEAD!!!!!!!

This is me and my long awaited guinea piggie,

Her name is "Meatball" because she loves to eat and she's kinda heavy, just look at my head hang... but I don't mind.

I'm SOOO happy that I finally got MY guinea piggie, after FIVE long years!!!!

I love MY Meatball a lot,

We lie together in bed like this for hours,

These pictures were actually taken on June 24th, 2011. Mum said Meatball was my early birfday pressie, which (she said) was the reason why I didn't get another guinea piggie on MY 12th birfday.... Honestly though, I could always do with more guinea piggies. I just LOVE them!!!

Remembering Georgie

This is a post that should have been made a long time ago but wasn't, mainly due to the break mum took from blogging.....

Some of my readers from back in 2007/2008 will remember MY Georgie, my GIANT bunny. For my new readers, you will get to read about MY Georgie for the first time!

We got him as a little 9 week old bun bun,

And watched him grow to almost 20 lbs.... (that's a dog harness he was wearing)

You may recall how much I loved MY Georgie.....

We went hunting together and I protected him,

We played in the yard together,

We celebrated Easter together,

And when mum wouldn't stop bringing STINKIES home, we moved out together,

Then one day, he stopped using his litter box and couldn't move his back legs anymore. Mum took him to a vet who specialized in bun buns. After a week, he couldn't use his front legs anymore, and then he wouldn't eat anymore.... (mum: Vet said he had some kind of infection that was in his brain.)

Mum said he was sick, so we brought him upstairs with us. (mum: Georgie's cage was in the garage.) I looked after him,

And stayed by his side 24/7,

A few more days later, mum left with MY Georgie, and all she bought back was this,

I looked and looked and looked and looked for MY Georgie.... (mum: this video is long and not very interesting. You can skip it if you want. It was shot the first time I let Sunshade down to the garage after Georgie passed away. She kept thinking he must have been hiding in the crawl space or by the boxes since those were the places he had gone to when he was let out of the cage to roam.)

(mum: Video below showed what Sunshade did for the next two weeks following Georgie's death.)

(mum: Georgie died on my birthday, he was only 1 year old. Three days after these videos were taken, Jaffa ate a 250 tab bottle of Advils and went into kidney failure. We didn't know if he would recover for the longest time. It was a stressful time, and I took a long break from blogging.)

DING-DING-DING

BREAKING NEWS: STINKY is alive and well, and still VERY annoying. The little glimpse you saw of him from one of the videos above is stilllllllll him today, except it's 3.5 years later. He was NEVER allowed to interact with MY Georgie, because I would pin him whenever he got close!!

My Georgie never came back and I don't know why.... I really hope I will get to play and protect him again one day because I really really love him.....

Below are just a few of our many happy memories together:

:'-(

The worst part is, Vancouver lost a lot more than a Stanley Cup today.....

We hosted the world with dignity and class last year during the Olympics, and today, because of a few brainless hooligans, the reputation of our great city has been ruined.

I have curled up into a ball of shame,

In my hole of shame.......

Now, here's my new design!!!

Be safe everybuddy...

Love nibbles,
Miss Sunshade (off to console D-Guy.....)

BRING IT ON

So everything had been going OK with Juice,

OK as in, we were co-existing,

I ignored him, he ignored me,

Mum had given up on the hope that I would grow to like him even just a little bit. Since he is not MY Georgie, there is no chance of that.

Here he was running towards STINKY (in the shade if you look carefully) while I dove for rockies in my pool,

I was hopeful that he and STINKY would become buddies, and they would BOTH leave me alone!

So this is what happened,

There is a reason why it was STINKY that was in the fight ring and not me. The first time Juice attacked, it was actually me that was in the x-pen. Both me and STINKY would go inside the x-pen from time to time to check out Juice's food plate. After a while, Juice started making runs at us while making a grunting noise. Sometimes he would hit us with his front paws. In the beginning, we weren't sure what he was doing, so we just kept getting out of his way.

AND THEN....

ONE DAY.... while I was sniffing the ground, he came at me and hit my SuperNOSE! It was then that I said enough was ENOUGH! So I turned and pinned him while yelling at him. Mum screamed, and I let him go. As soon as I let go of him, he punched me in the face AGAIN! (while D-Guy was laughing) Can you believe it? So I again pinned him. Ever since that day, I wasn't allowed to go in Juice's pen anymore.....

(Mum: Jaffa is just the sweetest boy, not a mean bone in his body. Sunshade is a no nonsense kinda girl. In the beginning she just took it from him, probably because she didn't know Juice was actually being aggressive. Then he scratched her nose...... Fortunately, Sunshade has a VERY good bite inhibition, and although it looked and sounded scary, all she was trying to do was to tell the rabbit to stop what he was doing. I was a little worried about the shear force of the impact, but after seeing how Juice just went right back at it, I knew Sunshade knew what she was doing, and Juice, well, he wanted the alpha position! His disposition is very uncharacteristic of his breed. Flemish Giants are suppose to be docile, gentle giants. Our first Flemish, Georgie was exactly what a Flemmie should be. I'm not sure why Juice is like this, and he came from a petting zoo! He's been this way since day one. He bites us too if we stick our arms inside the pen.)

Remember me and my Georgie? He never charged me, and he always welcomed me into his home!!

Okay... I never really LOVED being in his house.... but at least he was a nice host,

Before Juice, I never knew bun buns get mad since MY Georgie never got mad. (mum: I actually had to ask someone who knew rabbit behaviour well about the grunting noise and the charging. I wasn't sure what it meant either in the beginning.... lol)

Oh yea, a few weeks after Juice came home, he started scratching his ears really bad and they looked really yucky. So mum took him to a vet that had a special interest in rabbits. The vet told mum that Juice had EAR BUGGIES!!! Ewwww! (Mum: thank doGness mites are specie specific. So Juice could have only gotten the mites from the place he came from since we didn't have a rabbit for almost 4 years.)

Anyway, the vet wanted to put some drops in his ears, and Juice started stomping his big feet, and then started hitting the vet with his front paws. So the vet decided to do a bunny BURRITO so he couldn't scratch them. Well guess what he did, he bit the vet and drew blood! I was there the whole time just watching, and the vet told mum "I would rather see your Airedale than your bunny....". He was only 10 weeks old then.

D-Guy thinks Juice is just the coolest because, (in his words) he can take on Airedales!!

Mum blames D-Guy because he named Juice....

Remember, Juice was named after Kevin Bieska of the Vancouver Canucks. Kevin's nickname is Juice, and this is Kevin....

Juice... you know what happens to BIG BAD MEAN bun buns right??
