D-Guy's X-mas pressie to me and mum (mum: Jaffa too.) was a weekend trip to Seattle, WA to spend the New Years!
He booked a special hotel for ME!!!! (mum: and Jaffa too!!!!)
They had beds specially for ME!!! (mum: and Jaffa too!)
They had PINK cookies for ME!!! (Mum: it had wheat in it, since you have wheat allergy, they were both Jaffa's.)
There was a brochure that told us where all the off-leash parks were,
On the other side, there were numbers and addresses to all the Sunshade care places, as well as STINKY care places, (mum: Sunshade care places = vet clinic, animal emergency. Jaffa care places = Dog Daycares.)
D-Guy said this was the top 15 hotels in the US, and I TOTALLY believe it!!!
Mum and D-Guy bought lunch from Whole Foods, which was located downstairs from the hotel,
Me and D-Guy's annoyed faces at the trigger happy woman, (We wanted to EAT!!!)
I waited patiently to be fed,
After lunch, I had a drink while D-Guy tended to his Farmville and Restaurant City and Bejewel on Facebook,
We headed out in the hotel's elevator shortly after,
We had picked one of the hotel's recommended parks to go to, and arrived at this place. D-Guy fell asleep for some reason....
We.... WOKE HIM UP!!! (STINKY almost broke my neck and KILLLLED me)
We walked toward the zoo entrance just to have a look,
I was let off the leash, of course,
I could smell all kinds of refreshing smell from behind the fence,
We couldn't find the off-leash area, and mum said she was pretty sure they didnt' mean we could run off leash with the lions and tigers and wolves. D-Guy said we must have gone to the wrong part of the park.
So we circled around to a park next to the zoo,
Mum found me a stickie, and I caught it (well, right after the picture was taken),
D-Guy can be great (like taking us to Seattle), but he can also be SuperANNOYING!
Below is an example of him being SuperANNOYING:
I was happily chewing on the stickie mum threw me. While there were a gazillion other stickies lying around on the grass, D-Guy had to come grab mine,
Why did he want mine you might ask?
Well because, he wanted to give STINKY the other end so we could "play" tug,
Did I say I "play" tug to begin with?
Also, STINKY is far from a worthy opponent as he gives up at the sight of my glare!! (Honestly, I don't even think he really wanted to play tug either, it was just D-Guy who wanted to watch a game of Tug-of-War!)
This was me telling D-Guy what I thought of his action. I was trying to be diplomatic with words I used,
After giving my lecture, I took MY stickie away and laid down somewhere else,
I chewed on it, not aware of the zoo escapee behind me,
After a good chew, I decided to do a nice roll on the frozen field,
It felt GREAT!!
I wanted to enjoy the stickie at the same time, so.....
A little snoozing time (with stickie in my mouf),
After I was renergized, we continued walking,
I found hoooge wings soaring above me, see,
I laid at the bottom of the hooge wings, and a stickie was planted in front of me,
I started chewing on it,
And of course, Mr. Annoying (and I'm not talking about STINKY) just had to come and try to take it from me!
Finally, mum told them to go play on the playground!!
Me, being the protector of MY pack, I walked up a spiral walk way to the top of a little hill, over looking the rest of the playground,
I looked at mum,
But mainly kept my eye on Team Annoying,
After coming down from the sentry post, I saw a little tile with a drawing of a doggie on it. That doggie looked extremely familiar with its colour and shape.....
Then mum called me to come over,
She had found a slide for me and a pine cone!!
I'm ready for the Pine-Cones-Down-The-Slide game mum!! Now let the pine cone GOOO!
GOT IT!!
After a good game of Pine-Cones-Down-The-Slide, I went to check out the rest of the playground.
I climbed the steps,
Thought about going up more, but decided against it,
And of course, STINKY just had to follow whatever it is I'm doing!
At that point, both mum and D-Guy were "frozen" (mum: -2 degrees!!), so we headed back to our wonderful hotel room for the night.
Stay tuned for New Years Eve (Day) report!
ps. you can read STINKY's report on his bloggie if you want.... (I was MADE to put this up)
What a supernice pressie from D-guy, Sunshade. He's definitely a keeper even if he did steal your stickie for Stinky!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
Hi Sunshade, that's really nice. I think the D-guy "did good" even though he took your "stickie" away. We hope that everyone had a good time. Happy New Year Sunshade, Jaffa, Mum and the D-guy.
ReplyDeleteThe Fairmont! Nice! Haven't stayed there yet!
ReplyDeleteThe Woodland park is on the opposite side of the busy main road (99) and it's not that great of a park (mostly a big dirt hill). Their list should've had West Crest park in West Seattle or the Mercer Island park. And there are other dog friendly eating spots/bars than the ones on their list.
Looks like a fun time though, but yes it was FREEZING this weekend!
Dawling Sunshade

That's great. I think more hotels and restaurants should follow suit, especially in this economic climate -- "family friendly" places should include the four-legged members of the family!
ReplyDeleteIt's good business, if nothing else!

We read Jaffa's version of the Big Trip, but yours is, of course, much more factual and well organized. We're glad you had a good time, and we think D-Guy is really nice and thoughtful. Occassionally annoying, but hey, he's a guy! [Wait a minute! What does that mean? - Jed]

Wow, your mom really found the perfect boyfriend in that D guy. He really picked a great get-away and included the both of you pups on the trip. How many guys would do that? We think he's a keeper, for sure!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, that's funny that your friend plays all those Facebook games. Those games can be addicting. My mom stares at the computer a lot playing one of those games too. It gives me a chance to steal tissues from the trash while she's busy ;)
