Grooming Biz & Gustav
SO....
Mum has decided that........
She's going to have a grooming business on the side since a lot of professional groomers out there make Airedales look like Schnauzers or umm... un-Airedale like.
Take Gustav, an 8 year old handsome for example,
We met him while we were at the beach. His mom asked mum who groomed me because Gustav was just groomed by a professional groomer 10 days prior to our meeting, but she felt that he looked a little "off". So mum gave her contacts to Gustav's mom and said she could groom him next time. Gustav's mom contacted us 2 days later asking if mum could fix him up. Mum of course agreed (like she can say NO to an Airedale!).
Gustav came over from North Vancouver this morning,
I watched as he surveyed and marked my yard. I was making notes so I could mark over later,
Then the fixing up process started, (me the BOOTIFUL me on the left, he the STINKY he on the right, Gustav the handsome in the middle on the table),
You see, two weeks ago, the groomer basically just clipped his body, head and ears and that was it. His facial/leg furnishings were left all bushy and untouched.
He was wearing leggings and had no butt,
Mum showed off his butt and took down his leggings!
She took the excess hair off his face, and showed off the nice brick like head he had,
(mum: Normally the entire head would be a lot shorter after a groom. However, since the hair on Gustav's head and ears were already growing, I didn't want to take the furnishings as short as I would normally take and have him look weird.)
Look at the handsome boy Gustav!!! His dad is Swedish, and when they decided that they were getting the KING of the Terriers, they decided to name their Airedale after King Gustav V of Sweden.
Now friends, this is where mum needs your help. It hit mum that she needed a business card when Gustav's mom asked for one and she didn't have one!! So she and the D-Guy have been working on a business logo for the business card and (possibly) website.
We need you guys to PLEASE tell us what this says, or if you are totally confused by what it's suppose to read,
I will put up more designs (and a explanation on the name) in my next post for you guys to choose from.
Thank you & Love nibbles to all!

Hey your Moms very good, looks the proper job, mom was worried taking me to the local groomers, but we found Dave who grooms Airdales and WTs' he also shows dogs, so I'm very lucky to have the right cut. Like your moms name for the business I can read it "Square Dog Grooming" Is the i there for a reason?

it took me a couple times to figure it out, but it's SQUAIRE dog grooming!
i like the first logo!
We get it too! Square Aires! I have a Swedish daddy too but I'm not named after anyone Swedish... oh well!
Good luck with the grooming biz! Sometimes Mom wishes she knew enough about it to do something like that. She helps my breeder with her grooming biz by bathing and blow-drying dogs sometimes...

Hello Miss Sunshade!
I see it as Squaire Dog Grooming? Good to know you're starting a dog grooming biz! Mom does it as a sideline at home too. & she says you're a definitely a good groomer! Better than some professionals even!
Mom's namecard is self-hand-made on recycled paper & the logo is a chop. She'll thus chop chop chop on each paper she cuts out. Then details like emails/website are printed separately on another paper, cut out (1 by 1) again & pasted onto each recycled paper.
Many ppl give a weird look at Mom's namecard when she hands it out. lol.
We can't wait to see yours!
Love,
Velvet birdee
Well, I certainly appreciate the artistry of your mom's business cards, but I think it might be too subtle for a lot of clueless dog owners out there.
She did a super job on Gustav. I love the way his beardie stands out and of course the leg furnishings are very tricky.
Slobbers,
mango
I have to say I love Sunshade's blog. It's the best thing ever. I'm a HUGE Airedale Terrier fan. Keep up the blogging!
We love the logo...Squaire Dog Grooming. We wish we were dales so your mom could groom us :)
Oh my!! Your mom did a great job on Gustav!! I guess she's always done such a fab job on you and STINKY that we took it for granted, but when we saw the transformation of Gustav, he looked so much younger and more handsome!!
Your logo looks good.. especially like the cartoon Sunshade!! I guess you must have an 'AIRE' there huh? ***wink wink***
We like your mum's logo, Sunshade! She did a fantastic job on Gustav! He looks great!
Aire-hugs,
Penny & Patches
You did a great job on fixing poor Gustav. We sure have had our share of lousey grooms...mostly in Phoenix. It should be some sort of fine for making a fine square dog look like another breed!!
