MY breed

Some of you may know this already, but the breed Airedale Terrier was created by the crossing of the now extinct English Terrier (can't find a picture of) with the Otterhound.

Below is a picture of an Otterhound - originally bred to hunt river otters.


The result of this breeding was a dog able to swim down river otters during a hunt,


and capable of controlling vermin (raccoons included).


The dog is now known as an Airedale Terrorist.

I, however, am a SuperDALE, which differs slightly from an Airedale Terrorist. On top of the Otterhound and the Old English Terrier, a SuperDALE has a few more ancestors.


The animals responsible in the creation of a SuperDALE are:
The SuperOTTERHOUND - for its water loving characteristics


The SuperDALE loves water!!



The SuperDOLPHIN - for its in water agility


The SuperDALE can do flips in water!!



The SuperLION - for its bravery


The SuperDALE doesn't back down from a challenge!!



The SuperPOLAR-BEAR - for its self confidence


The SuperDALE is comfortable exposing herself anywhere, anytime! 



The SuperPOLAR-BEAR again - for its adorableness

The SuperPIG - for its juiciness


The SuperDALE has the biggest and juiciest nosey!!



The SuperBAT - for its keen hearing


The SuperDALE hears EVERYTHING!! (you got that STINKIES??)



The SuperSWAN - for its elegance


The SuperDALE is always elegant with whatever she does! (mum: LOL!)

The SuperSWAN again - for it's underwater maneuverabilities


The SuperDALE can sure find her special rockie under murky water!!



The SuperSHEEP - for its profuse amount of hair


The SuperDALE has a sheepcoat that is SuperSOFT, SuperWOOLLY, and SuperNON-WIRY. The STINKIES don't have the SuperDALE's coat because they are not part SuperSHEEP and are very wiry.


(mum: you are "Sheepcoated" NOT because you are part sheep!!!)


The SuperGREAT-WHITE - for its powerful jaws


The SuperDALE can open her jaws just as wide, and clamp down as hard as a SuperSHARK!!



The SuperGREAT-WHITE again - for it's no nonsense-ness


The SuperDALE does not tolerate any non-sense, and will always put the offender in place! (See example below:)



NOW, the most anticipated part in the making of the SuperDALE ..............................................
I know this is what you've all been waiting for ...................................................................................

The.......SuperGORILLA - for it's hind end muscularity

(Sorry, now extinct = no picture. Makes sense.)

The SuperDALE has all the terrier-ness in her,


She knows how to cover herself with earth most effectively,


She makes sure she is soaking wet before going digging,


And she knows to lie down in the freshly dug hole while she is soaking wet,


The result is an earth covered terrier,


Because an earthy muzzled/nosed/haired terrier is a happy terrier!
